Feature: Preview – Sarah Jaffe 1/22/11 Lola’s Saloon, Fort Worth

What a 2010 Denton’s Sarah Jaffe had. Critical acclaim from every direction, a phenomenal debut album with Suburban Nature that landed on seemingly every year end list one could find (#5 Local and #11 overall on The Synaptic’s lists) and countless shows including a nice support run with that woman Norah Jones. Not a one of those shows being in Fort Worth.

Tomorrow night, in what is sure to be a sell-out, the area’s next breakout artist graces Lola’s stage for her first Fort Worth show in an altogether way too long time. I have unfortunately never seen her perform, and I must tell you, I am brimming with excitement about this one. Although Suburban Nature fared well on our year end lists, those positions do not express the love affair we had with it last year; each time the album was played, it was loved even more, displaying more beauty and charm with each consequent listening.

Get your tickets, get them in advance, and get to Lola’s early for a spot – Dallas’ Bosque Brown and School of Rock in East Dallas attendees (comprised of all girls aged 8-13!) We’re Not Dudes open. As I mentioned before, this one is sure to sell out.

Catch Ms. Jaffe before she moves on to a larger stage… say Casa Manana perhaps?
